Find and Replace

Replace words in bulk, with regex support. Your text never leaves your browser.

How to use it

  1. Paste your text and type what to find and what to replace it with.
  2. The result and the number of replacements appear as you type.
  3. Copy the result. The original stays in the top box.

Regex examples

GoalFindReplace with
Delete all digits\d+(empty)
Add "- " to the start of every line^-
"Smith John" → "John Smith"^(\S+) (\S+)$$2 $1
2026-10-11 → 10/11/2026(\d{4})-(\d{2})-(\d{2})$2/$3/$1

In regex mode the replacement only runs when you press "Apply regex", so a heavy pattern cannot freeze the page while you are still typing. Avoid nested repeats such as (a+)+, which can take a very long time on long text. With regex off, symbols like . * $ are matched literally.

Frequently asked questions

How do I delete a word everywhere?

Type the word in "Find" and leave "Replace with" empty. Every occurrence is removed.

How do I use regular expressions?

Tick "Use regex" and the Find box is read as a JavaScript regular expression. Groups in parentheses can be reused as $1, $2 in the replacement, and ^ and $ match the start and end of each line. Press "Apply regex" to run it.

Can I undo a replacement?

Your original text stays untouched in the top box; only the result box changes. Edit the Find or Replace fields and the result updates.
